In my last food review, I reviewed the trending triple dipper at a restaurant known as Chilis. In this edition, I wanted to review a cheaper, more efficient meal. Fast food is very popular today and is an easy way to quickly get a good meal for an affordable price. Taco Bell is a well-known fast-food chain across the world and has recently dropped a few new menu items including both food and beverages. But before I begin with the review, here is some history of Taco Bell.
Glen Bell founded Taco Bell back in 1962 in Downey, California. He previously owned a burger joint known as Bell’s Burgers in 1948 where he sold burgers and hot dogs. Since then Taco Bell has strived to have a culture-centric lifestyle brand that provides affordable Mexican-style food. Today there are 8,000 restaurants in 30-plus countries. Taco Bell has also awarded over $155 million in grants and scholarships that are mainly focused on education and career readiness.
Now enough with the history and onto the good part, the first thing I ordered was the new slow-roasted chicken cheesy dipping burritos. The slow-roasted chicken cheesy dipping burritos caught my eye immediately because of their small size and similarity to the grilled cheese burrito. The burritos as they come include two snack-sized flour tortillas loaded with either chicken or steak, a blend of pepper jack and mozzarella cheese, and avocado ranch for a flavor boost, finished with a layer of melty cheese grilled to the outside. Overall, I think these burritos are great for an on-the-go small snack or even a meal if you’re not feeling too hungry. They are simple yet so delicious and can be paired with other menu items like their nacho fries if you are feeling hungrier. Even more importantly these only cost $4.99 which is very reasonable for two burritos packed with great flavor.
Moving on, I decided to step away from the burritos area of the menu and ordered the Steak Garlic Nacho Fries. These are very similar to their very loved nacho fries but upgraded and loaded with lots of toppings. They come with steak, shredded cheese, nacho cheese, pico de gallo, and garlic ranch sauce. If that’s not enough you are welcome to add on tomatoes, jalapenos, guacamole, and much more. These fries were packed with flavor and were the perfect size for a personal nacho. Substituting nacho chips with their golden crisp nacho fries was a great idea and enhanced the meal so much more. Just like the dipping burritos before the steak fires only cost $4.99 which once again is incredibly affordable for great quality fires.
The last item I reviewed was their new Baja Blast Dream Freeze. This is a spin-off to their original Baja Blast Freeze just with vanilla cream now added into the mix. I’m already a big fan of the original Baja Blast Freeze. It has become my go-to anytime I go to Taco Bell, so when I saw this, I knew I needed to try it. Adding in the vanilla cream provides a new flavor I would have never thought of but after trying them together makes so much sense. The sweetness it adds brings the drink to another level. To top it off Taco Bell holds a happy hour every day from 2-5 p.m. where you can enjoy this drink for just $1 dollar. This is a great deal, and I would definitely recommend trying the new Baja Blast Dream Freeze.
Overall, this food review had a great outcome and proves that fast food is not yet affordable but also great in taste. Compared to my last review my appetizer alone was a little over $20 which isn’t too bad, but if you’re looking for something even cheaper, I have found a great alternative. If you are thinking about going to try these new limited-time items and want all three you’re looking to spend about 12 dollars total. So, if you’re feeling hungry and want to try something new, I recommend you head down to your closet Taco Bell and try out their new limited-time items before they’re gone.
