If you’re looking for a new place to try that has a menu full of different things to try and delicious food then you’re in luck. Hoagies recently opened in Bakersfield on the weekend of March 21st it is located on 1004 19th Street in downtown Bakersfield. Prior to their opening there they had two other locations in San Luis Obispo and Pismo Beach.
The restaurant is not too big which does make it hard when the restaurant gets busy and since it has just recently opened it can be very busy but definitely worth the wait. Same goes for the parking, considering its downtown parking is limited and hard to find. But besides those factors the overall appearance of the restaurant was very nice. The decor inside is beachy and on theme for what the restaurant is known for. They have two patios that help split up the amount of people dining in , and a bar area as well if that’s what you’re more interested in. They also have multiple tv’s on display for guests to watch as entertainment and music playing throughout the restaurant.
So as far as first impressions go they had a good one. Moving onto what’s important, the food. Hoagies offers small appetizers, sandwiches, wraps, tacos, soups, salads, and seafood. They also serve breakfast from 8-11a.m. which includes breakfast wraps, tacos, ect. I went during the afternoon to each lunch there and was pleasantly surprised by the variety of food to order. I ended up getting the buffalo chicken sandwich with fries as my side and a fountain drink. I split my sandwich because they are generous there when it comes to their meals. The buffalo chicken sandwich was exactly what I wanted and is something I will definitely be ordering again. It was great for two people if you’re not feeling too hungry. Along with that they serve curly fries that are perfectly crispy and curly and a side of ketchup or ranch.
To wrap it up, Hoagies is a great place to eat if you’re looking for something new and don’t mind a little bit of a wait. With many options it’s hard to find something you won’t like, meaning there is something there for everyone to enjoy. So next time you’re hungry head downtown and try Hoagies you never know it might become your new favorite spot.
