In the Huddle is a division wide council produced by the Kern High School district itself. Interviews and gatherings take place between the different schools of the county. On October 10th, 2025, Ridgeview High School had the pleasure of welcoming In the Huddle on campus to provide an informational podcast.
Thirteen local students of Ridgeview were carefully selected and interviewed for this event. Diverse members of the community represent what life is like as a student. ASB President and Vice, Cheer, Agriculture, Volleyball, Tennis, Virtual Enterprise, Football, Cross County, and Graphic Arts were all the participating advocates. “In the Huddle is a panel from the KHSD with commentators who come on to campus and showcase the athletes, and students,” ASB Vice President Parmpeet Bhangoo informs. The Huddle is a recently launched production starring Stan Greene, Trevor Horn, Vance Palm, and Greg Kerr.
As it happens, the presentation was conducted on the same day as the famous rivalry game between Ridgeview High and Independence, also known as Homecoming Game Day. Bhangoo recognizes ”Cheerleaders are already in uniform, band is ready, and the school is already in spirit for the game,” therefore, the opportunity to showcase PACK Pride is fundamentally significant. Moreover, these specific representatives were chosen due to the significant increase of success and positive impact on the Ridgeview reputation.
The meeting agenda consisted of students who all possess leadership roles in one way or another. During the interview process, every participant was very passionate about their role, concisely proving the qualities of a perfect candidate not only as a speaker for the Huddle, but also as a genuine team leader. Diego Trujillo is a junior in high school who was elected as the Graphic Arts President. Trujillo shared his position and passion as a member of the Program, “A lot of the apparel you see on campus was made by us, designed and printed by our students. We’re very cost effective compared to outside vendors. We’re completely separate from the school, so any earnings go directly back to us.” After the Huddle’s interview, Trujillo was hoping to gain the appropriate appreciation for the team and program. He is also grateful for the opportunity to speak about something he cares so much about.
Independent studies teacher, and more famously, football coach Nathan Claunch exclaimed a similar devotion to his dedications, “To me, football is the greatest analogy for life, you can work really hard, sometimes it doesn’t go your way but usually the harder you work the more success you find. You don’t give up, you can be a part of the team.” As for the huddle, it initially began with a primary focus on football; therefore, Claunch’s contribution to the panel left an outstanding impression.
“We want the whole Kern County to know that Ridgeview does have potential to be the greatest. Ridgeview is diverse when it comes to the amount of programs, and how many students are involved. People do excel in and out of high school, we want the reputation for Ridgeview to be at its greatest,” says Bhangoo.
