The 2026 senior class is full of many talented students and as the school year comes to an end, we must sadly say goodbye to our beloved Ridgeview senior athletes. One of the standout athletes is baseball player, Adrian Bravo. He is wrapping his striking high school career that has made a lasting impact this year on his team and school. Known for his skill, leadership, and dedication, Bravo has become one of the most respected players on the team and campus.
Adrian Bravo has spent his last four years representing Ridgeview through baseball. He has played two years on junior varsity and another two on varsity. Though Bravo mostly plays center field and pitcher, he expresses his bias for center field. Bravo states, “I feel like there’s a lot of action out there, but then I also do love pitching, but if I had a pick, I would pick center field.” Another main component of him as a player is his attitude. He tries to uplift his teammates and maintain a positive atmosphere on and off the field. When he was asked about how he wants to be remembered as a player, Bravo states, “A good captain, good teammate, and someone they could just look up to and just talk to whenever. It doesn’t even have to be about baseball…a good friend.” These ideas and mindset have earned him a division one scholarship at Fresno state university, which is where he’s headed this fall.
Robert Shahan is one the boys’s varsity baseball coaches at Ridgeview. Shahan played baseball from the age of four before becoming a high school coach which makes this his 33rd year as a player and coach combined. Shahan first noticed Adrian Bravo’s skills in sixth grade when Bravo played on a local travel team. When he reflects on Bravo’s development, Shahan says,“He was a good baseball player and now he’s a great baseball player. Just another truly great example of work ethic. And again, none of it’s easy. I have players where the game’s easy for them. This game’s not easy for Adrian. He has had to work to be great.” Shahan also pointed to the mental side of Bravo’s game by adding that,“He has good weeks and bad weeks because it’s very mental more than it’s physical. When he has good weeks, it’s electric and he hits home runs and doubles and he’s a great producer. Pitching, it’s similar, but when he’s the best version of himself as a pitcher, he is one of the best pitchers I’ve ever seen play this game”
Bravo has been a great player and role model for his teammates as he shows incredible leadership, work ethic and determination. He is also a baseball state champion since he was part of the varsity team that won the Division 4 state championship title last year. All this plus his Fresno state Division 1 scholarship set Bravo up to be highly successful in the sport and we wish him luck for the rest of the baseball season and his upcoming college freshman year.
